I visited seven cities in Germany, the U.K and France in three weeks this September. My tour started from this station, Frankfurt (Main) Hauptbahnhof.
At the beginning, I showed performance with musicians in three cities in Germany.
The first one was in Kaiserslautern.
16. September at Stiftskirche
piano: Holger Mantey
bamboo flute: Tony Clark
After the performance in Germany, I flied from Frankfurt to London.
Last year I’ve got an offer to film me from Mr. Martin Cooper in London. He is an editor of documentaries. The films he has edited have won RTS Awards and been nominated for Emmy Awards. Now he is making a documentary of calligraphers. For this film, he features twelve calligraphers from around the world, including me. It will be presented in film festivals and broadcasted in a program on the BBC.
This is a meeting place with Mr. Cooper in Regent’s Park in London.
In the week end I could make a time to visit Royal Academy of Arts with Mr. Cooper. We were so lucky that it was a fine day and just an opening day of the exhibition “Abstract Expressionism” on Saturday 24th.
POLLOCK, KLINE, DE KOONING, ROTHCO, NEWMAN, SAM FRANCIS, MARK TOBEY …….
After London I went to Paris by Eurostar.
The first day in Paris, I visited Fine Art Cube in a suburb area of Paris. It’s a studio of a photographer Mr.Gérard Rancinan and a writer Ms. Caroline Gaudriault. Mr. Gérard Rancinan is taking portraits in parallel with his very popular works.
He features artists and iconic people of the XX and XIXst centuries. For example, Fidel Castro, Yasser Arafat, the Pope, Dalai Lama, Roy Lichtenstein, Paul McCarthy, Damien Hirst, Yan Pei Ming, Opalka, Pierre&Gilles etc. His first portrait was Antoni Tàpies in 1978 as a photo shows. Then he is continuing to make portraits since Tàpies.
To make a next portrait, he will come to my studio in Japan to shoot me in this winter.

Next day, I had a one-day trip from Paris to Marseille to visit a gallery who contacted to me the other day. Blue sky and green sea was shining in the beautiful sunlight.
I’m glad that the gallery holds my exhibition for three weeks in October 2017.
